I started yesterdays post with the stat that home teams have never gone 8-0 in the first two rounds of the playoffs. They are currently 6-0, thanks to the 49ers and Patriots winning. If I were the Packers or the Giants I would not want to face the 49ers. Their defense is tough. They make every hit count and try to take the ball away on every play. Also apparently Alex Smith is pretty good in the 4th quarter. As for the Patriots, they played pretty well. I have no idea how the Steelers lost to the Broncos now.
Ravens 24, Texans 14 --- BAL -7.5. Similar to the 49ers this is the first Ravens home playoff game in a while. They are going to be pumped up. The defense should be able to stop TJ Yates, however Arian Foster should be able to slow down the pace of the game and keep the Texans in the game for awhile. As for the Ravens offense just give the ball to Ray Rice. DO NOT let Flacco throw more than 25 times. Joe Flacco is my most hated athlete. Why are we suppose to pump his tires? What has he ever won? Call me when you win a Super Bowl pal and even when you do it will only mean you are a little better than Trent Dilfer. Your team will win you a super bowl, it will have nothing to do with you. Sorry, not a Flacco guy, but the Ravens will win today.
Giants 34, Packers 31 --- NYG +7.5. The first home team to lose in the playoffs will be the defending Super Bowl Champions. The Giants will come into Lambeau and get the win today. I think this will happen because Eli and the Giants offense are playing as well as the Packers offense, so they will be able to score with them. As for the defense it's clear who has the edge. JPP and the Giants d-line will be able to get to Aaron Rodgers, similar to the way the 49ers got to Drew BREEEESSS. Sure Brees threw for over 400 yards and had 4 TD's but he also had 2 INT's and didn't look comfortable in the pocket until the 4th quarter. I think the Giants will be able to do the same thing to Rodgers. He will make some great throws and they will be able to score but the Giants will create one or two key turnovers to lead to the win.
