1. JaMarcus Russell-2007 Oakland Raiders, 1st Overall. Picked ahead of Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson, Patrick Willis, and Darrelle Revis. Career Stats: 17 TD, 21 INT, 65.5 QB rating, 51.6 completion percentage. He is on the Raiders so he was doomed on draft day.
2. Darko Milicic-2003 Detroit Pistons, 2nd Overall. Picked ahead of Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh. Career Stats: 5.4 points per game, 4 rebounds per game. He's on the Knicks now, who knew?
3. Bryan Bullington-2002 Pittsburgh Pirates, 1st Overall. Picked ahead of Zach Grienke, Prince Fielder, Scott Kazmir, Cole Hamels, and Matt Cain. Career stats: 0-5 with a 5.08 era. Sums up the decade for the Pirates.
4. Charles Rogers-2003 Detroit Lions, 2nd Overall. Picked ahead of Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin, Troy Polamalu, Jason Witten. 36 career catches for 440 yards and 4 td's. "Ya, I used to blow a-day" Charles Rogers, on his smoking weed everyday, that's the guy you want to build your franchise around.
5. Greg Oden-2007 Portland Trailblazers, 1st Overall. Picked ahead of Kevin Durant. If he didn't break a leg or arm every other week he may be a good pro, but Kevin Durant will be a superstar.
6. Adam Morrison-2006 Charlotte Bobcats, 3rd Overall. Picked ahead of Brandon Roy and Rajon Rondo. 8.1 points per game. Great college player for the Zags who could shoot the lights out but has shot only 33% from three point land.
7. Kwame Brown- Washington Wizards, 1st Overall. Picked ahead of Pau Gasol, Joe Johnson, Tony Parker, Gilbert Arenas. 6.9 points per game, that's just turrible for the first pick of the draft.
8. The entire 2000 NBA Draft- Only 3 all-stars drafted, Kenyon Martin, Jamaal Magloire, and Michael Redd. Not exactly Hall of Famers in that group.
9. Courtney Brown- 2000 Cleveland Browns, 1st Overall. Picked ahead of Brian Urlacher, Shuan Ellis, John Abraham, and Keith Bulluck. To be fair the Browns figured drafting another guy with the last name of Brown would work out as well as Jim Brown did. Not so much.
10. David Carr- 2002 Houston Texans, 1st Overall and Joey Harrington- Detroit Lions, 3rd Overall. Picked ahead of John Henderson, Dwight Freeney, Albert Haynesworth, Ed Reed, Brian
Westbrook. 155 interceptions between the two, both never made it to the playoffs and are no longer on the Texans or Lions. Drafting Franchise QB's is tough but Al Davis could have done better than these two, well maybe not.
Honorable Mentions:
Alex Smith- San Francisco 49ers 2005, 1st Overall
Matt Leinart- Arizona Cardinals 2006, 10th Overall
